Oddělení je zaměřeno na výzkum v následujících oblastech matematiky:

  • Stochastická analýza, s důrazem na nekonečně-rozměrné systémy a systémy interagujících částic
  • Striktně stacionární procesy a ergodická teorie
  • Analýza statistických dat se zaměřením na mnohorozměrnou neparametrickou statistiku a na analýzu přežívání
  • Statistická teorie zpracování signálů, speciálně problematika slepé separace signálů

New theoretically well founded general definitions of the amount of information contained in messages, signals and vision fields from stochastically specified sources. Specification of particular formulas and presentation of properties of the new information measures in a form suitable for engineering applications in research and development of information processing systems.

Phase transitions of complex systems are studied with help of probabilistic and analytic methods. The techniques of Pirogov-Sinai theory and cluster expansion are further developed and applied.

The project is devoted to basic research in mathematics, probability and statistics, with applications to neurophysiology and economics. A broad new class of random point processes in space and time will be developed and its properties investigated mainly analytically and also by means of simulations. Advanced probabilistic tools will be enhanced to solve complex modeling problems.

The development of the methodology for quality improvement, diagnostics and reliability analysis of production and technological processes, namely with respect to their aplicability in praxis. The advancement of complex analytical methods, leading to increase of competitiveness of industial works.
