ManyVal is a series of international workshops on the logical and algebraic aspects of many-valued reasoning. The aim of the workshops is to gather both established and young researchers sharing an interest for a specific topic. Accordingly, each edition has a sharp focus. The attendance is limited in order to facilitate close and informal interaction. There are no parallel sessions. Contributed talks are allocated ample time.

A series of Workshops on Uncertainty Processing (WUPES) has been held in the Czech Republic every third year since 1988. Like the previous meetings the forthcoming Workshop will foster creative intellectual activities and the exchange of ideas in an informal atmosphere. Therefore we will keep the number of participants limited (~40). The conference will be held in the beautiful spa town Mariánské Lázně and it is organized in colaboration of MTR department and Faculty of Management, University of Economics, Prague.

The Winter School of Department of Decision-Making Theory is a popular meeting point of students and researchers from the department and other colaborating researchers from several Czech institutions as well as guests from abroad. It is held in the UTIA's chalet. The program of the 2013nd edition of the MTR Winter School will consist mainly of tutorial talks given by participants.

Ve dnech 5.-7.června 2012 v Selském dvoře v Biskoupkách u Zbiroha proběhl letošní ročník tradičního výjezdního semináře "Pravděpodobnostní a jiné metody rozhodování".

obhájil dne 24. února 2012 v 13:30 hod na FJFI ČVUT, Trojanova 13, Praha 2 doktorskou disertační práci na téma Probabilistic Compositional Models: solution of an equivalence problem.

obhajil dne 6. října 2011 v 17:00 hod na FSV UK, Opletalova 26 doktorskou disertační práci na téma Wavelet-based Realized Variation and Covariation Theory

obhájil dne 22. 4. 2011 doktorskou práci "Spatially invariant systems: modelling, analysis and control via polynomial technique" na Fakultě elektrotechnické ČVUT a 21. 6. 2011 byl promován doktorem (Ph.D.).

Ve dnech 23. až 27. května 2011 proběhla poprvé v Praze vědecká konference "International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing" (ICASSP 2011) za účasti více jak 2100 odborníků ze 58 států světa. Akce byla pořádána vědeckou společností IEEE pod předsednictvím trojice zástupců České republiky, a to Petra Tichavského (ÚTIA AV ČR Praha), Jana Černockého (VUT v Brně) a Aleše Procházky (ÚPŘT FCHI VŠCHT Praha) se spoluúčastí pracovníků a studentů Ústavu počítačové a řídicí techniky FCHI VŠCHT Praha.

Vedení Fakulty sociálních věd Univerzity Karlovy v Praze udělilo ocenění "Zlatý kurz" PhDr. Jaromíru Baxovi, Mgr. Lukáši Váchovi a Prof. Ing. Miloslavu Vošvrdovi za výuku kurzu JEM017 Business cycle theory v zimním semestru 2010/2011.
