60th birthday of Prof. Sergej Čelikovský.

Sergej Čelikovský was born 21 of January, 1961. He received his MSc. degree in Applied Mathematics from Optimal Control Department, Moscow State University in 1984 and his Ph.D. degree in Technical Cybernetics from the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences in 1988. He was visiting researcher at University of Twente, Enschede 1996, Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering, at Chinese University of Hong Kong 1998 and at CINVESTAV del I.P.N., Mexico 1998-2000. He has been Associate Member of the Centre for Chaos and Complex Networks, City University of Hong Kong since 2003. Currently he is Research Fellow and Head of the Department of Control Theory in Institute of Information Theory and Automation, Czech Academy of Sciences and Full Professor at the Department of Control Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague.

Sergej Čelikovský has been Senior Member of IEEE since 2003 and he was Member of General Assembly of the European Union Control Association during 2011-2017. He received SICE 2011 Award for Outstanding Paper from the Society of Instrument and Control Engineers, Japan and he was awarded EEA (French association of professors and researchers in electrical and information sciences) Demonstrator Paper Prize at the IFAC World Congress 2017 in Toulouse. He authored or co-authored over 60 papers in journals impacted due to Thomson Reuters, receiving over 2000 citations, and the monograph published by Prentice Hall. Sergej Čelikovský has been member of editorial boards of various recognized journals and conferences IPC’s, among them TAC IEEE, IFAC World Congress 2014 and 2017.  Sergej Čelikovský served as Subarea Chair of IFAC NOLCOS 2007 and 2010. Currently, he is Subject Editor of Journal of the Franklin Institute and AE of International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos.
