Julia programming language is increasingly known by the community for its suitability in the field of numerical calculations. The course consists of two parts. The first part presents the basics of Julia. The second part introduces mathematical optimization and its application in machine learning, statistics and optimal control of differential equations. While the first part shows the individual concepts of Julia, the second part combines them into longer logical sections of code. We explain each application theoretically.

A. Brožová cooperates in tutorials, the course is supervised by Ing. Pavel Strachota, PhD.. It is the first course of calculus on FNSPE. The topics covered include an introduction to sets and mappings, the limit of a numerical sequence, the limit of a real function, the derivative of a real function, and the behaviour of functions.

Cílem předmětu je seznámit studenty se základními metodami strojového učení. Studenti teoreticky porozumí a naučí se prakticky používat modely vhodné pro regresní i klasifikační úlohy ve scénáři učení s učitelem a také modely shlukování ve scénáři učení bez učitele. V předmětu bude také probrán vztah mezi vychýlením a variancí modelů (bias-variance trade-off) a vyhodnocování kvality modelů. Kromě toho se studenti naučí základní techniky předzpracování a vizualizace dat. Na cvičeních se k práci s daty a modely budou využívat knihovny pandas a scikit pro jazyk Python.
