Autumn Soft-computing workshop - VŘSR 2024

Date of event

The VŘSR workshop is organized sequentially by colleagues from the Institute of Information Theory and Automation (ÚTIA) of the Czech Academy of Sciences, the Institute for Research and Applications of Fuzzy Modeling (IRAFM) at the University of Ostrava, and the Institute of Informatics (UI). The event is primarily focused on presenting fresh (interim) results of doctoral students, accompanied by discussions with experienced scientific veterans.

The abbreviation VŘSR has a traditional origin in this seminar series. It was first introduced, likely humorously, by mathematician Ivan Kramosil and has been retained ever since.

Key Areas of Contributions

  • Fuzzy modeling, fuzzy transformations, and approximations
  • Probabilistic models (conditional independence models, graphical models, Bayesian networks, models based on coherence principles)
  • Possibilistic theory, fuzzy logic
  • Models based on belief functions
  • Game theory, decision-making
