Vítek Sýkora, stážista našeho ústavu, získal první místo na studentské konferenci Otevřená věda v oblasti věd o neživé přírodě. Vítek abosolvoval stáž Počítačové vnímání vzhledu materiálů pod vedením Jiřího Filipa z oddělení Rozpoznávání obrazů.
The paper entitled "Time-Optimal Control for Bilinear Nonnegative-In-Control Systems: Application to Magnetic Manipulation" by Jiri Zemanek, Sergej Celikovsky a Zdenek Hurak was awarded the EEA Demonstrator Paper Prize. Prezident republiky Petr Pavel předal ve středu 21. června ve Velké aule Karolina jmenovací dekrety novým profesorkám a profesorům. Profesorem pro obor matematika – matematické modelování a numerická matematika byl jmenován vedoucí oddělení MTR Martin Kružík.

Stážisté Adam Hobza, Ondřej Vašátko a Tadeáš Zíka se umístili na třetím místě ve vědní oblasti o neživé přírodě na závěrečné konferenci projektu Akademie věd ČR pro studenty středních škol Otevřená věda. Tito studenti absolvovali v našem ústavu stáž na téma "Bayesovská síť jako mozek umělé inteligence" pod vedením Jiřího Vomlela.
