Abstract:

GenEx - System for support of the FISH method evaluation The goal of this project is to develop a system for computer-aided evaluation of molecular cytogenetic analyses. The primary use of the system is in evaluation of image data originating from the FISH (Fluorescence In-Situ Hybridization) analysis. An emphasis will be given on automation of the process of locating the hybridization signals and evaluating their quality. Statistical evaluation methods will be used in order to detect low-frequency mosaic chromosomal abnormalities, using data obtained on a large set of images. A prototype system will be developed, tested and evaluated within the four year duration of the project, that is, before the end of the year 2014.
