Productive4.0 - Electronics and ICT as enabler for digital industry and optimized supply chain management covering the entire product lifecycle

Productive4.0 is one of the first Lighthouse projects funded under the ECSEL Joint Undertaking. The main aim is to create a user platform across value chains and industries, that especially promotes the digital networking of manufacturing companies, production machines and products. The participating partners (from 19 countries) will examine methods, concepts and technologies for service-oriented architecture as well as for components and infrastructure in IoT. The platform can be used for managing the supply chains, the product life cycle and digital production.

The main objective is to achieve improvement of digitising the European industry by electronics and ICT. The project aims at suitability for everyday application across all industrial sectors. It addresses various industrial domains with one single approach of digitalisation. What makes the project unique is the holistic system approach of consistently focusing on the three main pillars: digital automation, supply chain networks and product lifecycle management, all of which interact and influence each other. This is part of the new concept of introducing seamless automation and network solutions as well as enhancing the transparency of data, their consistence and overall efficiency.
