Jitka Kostkova, a PhD student of Jan Flusser, has won the prestigeous Joseph Fourier Prize in Computer Science for her work on invariants of vector fields. The prize is awarded by the French Embassy and ATOS company. Congratulation!

The Winter School of the Department of Decision-Making Theory is a popular meeting of students and researchers from the department and collaborating researchers from several Czech institutions as well as guests from abroad. It takes place at the UTIA's chalet. The event is organized by M. Studený  and J.Vomlel. The scientific program covers the research interests of the department MTR UTIA and of our invited guests.

Jan Kotera and Filip Šroubek from the Dept. of Image Processing (ZOI), and D. Rozumny and J. Matas from the Czech Technical University in recognition of their outstanding contribution Non-Causal Tracking by Deplatting received the GCPR 2019 Honorable Mention at the 41th German Conference on Pattern Recogntion, Dortmund, September 13, 2019.

Tým vědců z Univerzity v Cambridge ve spolupráci s oddělením zpracování obrazu analyzoval proces, jímž buňka absorbuje materiál z vnějšího prostředí. Výsledky jejich spolupráce, k níž byla speciálně vyvinuta nová metoda automatické analýzy dat z mikroskopu, publikoval vědecký časopis Developmental Cell.

Institutes of Information Theory and Automation in cooperation with Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University in Prague organizes STAT of ML (Statistics of Machine Learning) conference to be held from September 30 to October 1, 2019  in Prague, Czech Republic. The main theme of the conference is rigorous statical treatment of machine learning applied in the field of digital finance.

The conference Prague Stochastics 2019 continues a traditional series of international conferences on stochastics organized by the Institute of Information Theory and Automation in Prague since 1956.

Třiadvacet výrazných vědeckých talentů letos získalo prestižní ocenění Akademie věd ČR: Prémii Otto Wichterleho. Mezi oceněnými je Ing. Ondřej Tichý, Ph.D. z oddělení Adaptivních systémů.

Slavnostní ceremoniál se uskutečnil v pražské Lannově vile ve středu 19. června 2019 a ceny laureátům předala předsedkyně Akademie věd ČR Eva Zažímalová.

Workshop on Stochastics Informatics and Decision Making  - well known as Alšovice according to the traditional venue of many of the first meetings - is an annual workshop organized by members of the department of Stochastic Informatics of the Institute of Information Theory and Automation of the Czech Academy of Sciences. It is an informal meeting of people interested in various topics of information and decision making theories.

Ing. Lubomír Bakule, CSc. byl jmenován emeritním pracovníkem ÚTIA AV ČR, za jeho přínos k rozvoji ústavu a vědního oboru Decentralizované řízení složitých systémů.
